Stephanie Arata

Stephanie has been riding horses all her life and was determined to make her passion into a career.

Riding any horse that came her way, Stephanie successfully trained and competed in hunters, jumpers, dressage, and 3-day events. Because of this background, Stephanie believes in teaching her students strong dressage and flatwork basics helping them in their course work.

Be the student young or old, scared or confident, beginner or advanced, Stephanie caters to each of her students' needs and teaches them in a way that is best for them, helping them to achieve their goals, be them small or big.

Working as an equine vet assistant for multiple years, gave Stephanie the insight and knowledge in caring for and rehabilitating horses as well as knowledge in nutrition and senior care. Stephanie believes in passing this information along to her young riders and is a stickler for proper care and horsemanship.

Having a true passion for children and horses, Stephanie thrives off the young riders starting their careers in the show ring. Stephanie's positive and upbeat teaching style, patience for students and horses, and professional integrity make her a valuable asset to Arata Ranch Equestrian.

Arata Ranch History

Stephanie and her husband, Garon, purchased Arata Ranch in 2016 as a bare piece of land with just a goal of creating the boarding facility and training stable they envisioned. The newly weds began with moving onto the property, living in a 5th wheel working tirelessly every free waking minute to build Arata Ranch. Thanks to our family and friends who have helped us so much along the way. It started with removing about 300 eucalyptus trees and then moved to setting up utilities within the first year. As soon as we had basic infrastructure Stephanie wasted no time in moving in a few pasture horses in causing Garon to put up fencing and shelters overnight. Then finally a house was installed which felt like a mansion after living in the trailer for over 2 years.

Shortly after the house was there an arena was in the works and of course our barn design. Then 2 kids came to join the team, Landon and Lucy, and they get to share the vision and fun. Even though our property is in constant project mode still, we love being able to create the barn, facility, and home we have always wanted and love even more that we get to share it with our barn family.
